Can a Baby's brain waves predict their future? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07393620
Summary
This study aims to see if monitoring a newborn's brain activity and oxygen levels in their first few days can help predict their future development. Researchers will follow 30 newborns who experienced a mild shortage of oxygen at birth but don't qualify for standard cooling treatment. They'll check if early brain readings are linked to how these children develop thinking, movement, and language skills by age two.
