New scan could spare brain cancer patients risky surgery
NCT ID NCT04244019
Summary
This study is testing if a special combined scan (FLT-PET/MRI) can tell the difference between two problems that look the same after brain radiation treatment: radiation damage and the cancer growing back. It aims to see if this scan can provide a clear answer without needing brain surgery for a diagnosis. The study involves 30 adults who had previous radiation for brain metastases and now have a suspicious new spot.
