First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study involves 80 adults with opioid use disorder who are starting buprenorphine treatment and want to stop using opioids. Researchers will use MRI scans to see if brain markers can predict who will successfully quit, and will test whether real or sham repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) helps reduce opioid use. Participants undergo up to 30 rTMS sessions and are followed for 12 weeks to track relapse and abstinence.
