First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study with 80 adults who have opioid use disorder and are starting buprenorphine aims to see if an MRI brain marker can predict who will successfully quit opioids. It also tests whether adding repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) helps people stay off opioids better than a placebo version. Participants get MRIs, 30 sessions of real or sham rTMS, and weekly check-ins for 12 weeks.
