Brain scans predict growth and learning problems in kids after tumor surgery
NCT ID NCT07342686
Summary
This study looked back at 500 children in China who had surgery for a specific brain tumor called craniopharyngioma. Researchers wanted to see if the amount of injury to a deep brain area (the hypothalamus), seen on MRI scans, could predict future problems. They checked if more severe injury was linked to growth hormone deficiency, lower height, thinking difficulties, and emotional issues over at least two years after surgery.
