Brain scans reveal Hippocampus's dual role in memory and perception
NCT ID NCT04562974
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study used brain scans (fMRI) to understand how the hippocampus, a brain area known for memory, also helps with perception. Sixty healthy young adults performed thinking and seeing tasks while their brain activity was measured. The goal was to learn more about how the brain works, not to test a treatment.
