Scientists monitor brain waves during surgery to prevent Post-Op confusion
NCT ID NCT06133842
Summary
This study aims to understand how to maintain the best blood pressure during surgery to protect brain health in patients aged 60 and older. Researchers will use stickers on the forehead to monitor brain electrical activity and oxygen levels before, during, and after major non-cardiac surgery. The goal is to learn if a personalized blood pressure target can be found for each patient to help reduce the risk of post-surgery confusion and thinking problems.
