Scientists scan hidden brain 'Drains' to solve mystery headache disorder
NCT ID NCT05762367
Summary
This study aims to understand the cause of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), a condition causing severe headaches and vision loss due to high pressure in the brain. Researchers will use a special, high-resolution MRI scan to compare the tiny lymphatic drainage vessels in the brain lining of 20 female patients with IIH against 20 healthy female volunteers. The goal is to see if problems with these drainage systems contribute to the disease, which could lead to better future treatments.
