Summary
This study looked at how lung damage from COPD in smokers might lead to changes in the brain and problems with thinking. Researchers studied 170 adults aged 30-85 using brain scans and thinking tests. The goal was to understand these connections early in COPD to help design future treatments that could prevent or delay memory and thinking issues.
