Scientists scan brains to unlock why people crave alcohol
NCT ID NCT07220148
Summary
This study aims to understand how the brains and bodies of young adults who drink alcohol react to pictures of alcohol. Researchers will use MRI brain scans and blood tests to measure brain activity, stress hormones, and immune responses when participants view alcohol images versus water images. The goal is to gather information that could help develop future treatments for problem drinking, but this study itself does not test any treatments.
