Tiny brains, big clues: EEG study maps early activity in preemies

NCT ID NCT03677908

First seen Jun 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026

Summary

This study looked at a specific type of brain activity in very premature infants (born between 26 and 32 weeks). Researchers used EEG to find where this activity happens in the brain. The goal was to learn more about how the brain develops early on, not to test a treatment. 28 healthy premature infants took part.
