First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving laxatives before inserting a peritoneal dialysis catheter can reduce the chance of blockages. About 400 adults with kidney failure needing dialysis will be randomly assigned to receive laxatives or not before surgery. The goal is to see if this simple step improves catheter function and reduces the need for extra procedures.
