Paramedics test two intubation tools in simulated rescue scenarios
NCT ID NCT06609499
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This completed trial compared two airway devices (standard gum elastic bougie vs flexible-tip bougie) for intubating a simulated entrapped trauma patient with a hard-to-reach airway. Fifty experienced paramedics tested each device on a manikin, with up to three attempts per device. The study measured how fast and how easily each device allowed successful intubation and ventilation, aiming to identify the best tool for real-life rescue situations.
