Paramedics test two airway devices in simulated rescue scenarios
NCT ID NCT06609499
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This completed trial tested two airway tools (standard gum elastic bougie vs. flexible-tip bougie) for intubating a manikin simulating an entrapped trauma patient with a hard-to-reach airway. Fifty experienced paramedics each tried both devices, with up to three attempts per device. The study measured how fast each tool allowed successful intubation and ventilation, first-attempt success rates, and ease of use. Results will help guide device choice in real emergency rescues.
