First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests whether injecting Botox into the thumb joint can reduce pain and improve hand function in people with thumb arthritis (rhizarthrosis). About 60 adults with moderate to severe pain who haven't gotten relief from standard painkillers will receive either Botox or a placebo injection. Researchers will measure pain changes over 3 months and track any side effects.
