Botox shots for thumb pain? new study tests relief

Summary
This study tests whether injecting Botox into the thumb joint can reduce pain and improve hand function in people with base-of-thumb osteoarthritis. 120 adults with moderate to severe thumb pain will receive either Botox, a mix of Botox and saline, or plain saline injections, plus a custom splint. The main goal is to see if Botox provides better pain relief at 6 months compared to placebo.
