What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Botulinum toxin A (Botox)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a non-surgical treatment option for people with chronic jaw muscle pain that hasn't improved with standard care.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early exploratory study with only 25 participants and no control group. Results may not apply to everyone, and Botox injections carry risks like temporary muscle weakness or bruising.
