New transplant method aims to reduce dangerous side effects for rare blood disease patients

NCT ID NCT03579875

Summary

This study is testing a modified bone marrow transplant for people with inherited disorders where their bone marrow stops working properly. The goal is to replace the faulty bone marrow with healthy donor cells while reducing the risk of a severe immune reaction called graft-versus-host disease. Researchers hope this approach will help patients recover their immune systems faster and lower their risk of serious infections after the transplant.
