Mayo clinic launches study to uncover hidden bone marrow weakness in blood cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06536452

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at how chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and its early stage, monoclonal B-cell lymphocytosis (MBL), affect the bone marrow's ability to fight infections. Researchers will compare bone marrow samples from 50 participants—including people with CLL, people with MBL, and healthy adults of similar age. The goal is to understand the differences in infection-fighting function, which may lead to better care in the future.
