Summary
This study tests whether combining exercise, a bone-strengthening drug (alendronate), and a calorie-restricted diet can prevent bone loss in older adults who are overweight or have low bone mass. About 900 participants will be followed for up to two years. The goal is to find safe ways for older adults to lose weight without harming their bones.
