Dental implant study reveals which abutment preserves jawbone better

NCT ID NCT07333235

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at 14 men with no teeth in their lower jaw to see how much bone is lost around dental implants when using two different types of connectors (multiunit vs. OT Equator abutments) for a fixed hybrid bridge. Researchers took X-rays right after the bridge was placed and again at 3, 6, and 9 months to measure changes in bone height. The goal was to find out which connector leads to less bone loss over time.
