New synthetic bone graft aims to improve healing after tooth removal

NCT ID NCT07020650

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether a man-made bone graft material (carbonate apatite) helps preserve the jawbone after tooth extraction better than grafts from human or cow bone. About 45 adults needing a tooth pulled will receive one of the three graft types. Researchers will measure bone changes using scans and tissue samples to see which material works best for future dental implants.
