New synthetic bone graft tested in spine surgery study

NCT ID NCT05037968

First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study compares two bone graft materials used during spinal fusion surgery to treat back and leg pain caused by degenerative disc disease. One is a synthetic material (MagnetOs Flex Matrix) and the other is a donated human tissue graft (Trinity Elite). About 100 adults needing up to four-level spine fusion will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two grafts. The main goal is to see how well the bones fuse together after 12 months using CT scans.
