Scientists zoom in: hunting for the hidden cracks in our bones

NCT ID NCT04787679

Summary

This study aims to understand why bones become fragile and break in people with osteoporosis. Researchers will analyze tiny bone samples from patients having hip replacement surgery using advanced imaging and computer models. The goal is to learn how microscopic holes and channels in bone influence cracking, which could lead to better ways to predict fracture risk early.
