Can fixing a hormone problem stop bone loss in kidney patients?

NCT ID NCT07171216

Summary

This study aims to see if treating high levels of parathyroid hormone (a common problem in chronic kidney disease) can improve bone mineral density and reduce fracture risk. It will enroll 70 adults with advanced kidney disease and elevated hormone levels. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive active treatment to lower their hormone levels or to follow current standard monitoring practices, and changes in their bone density will be compared over time.
