Summary
This study tests whether a virtual version of the Body Project, a body acceptance program, can prevent eating disorders in 441 young women aged 16-25 who have body image concerns. Participants are randomly assigned to either the Body Project or an educational control group. The program is delivered online, either led by a peer or a clinician, to see if it can be scaled up for broader reach.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Body Project (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide an effective, scalable online program to prevent eating disorders in at-risk young women.
What could go wrong
This is a prevention trial, not a treatment. Results may not apply to all groups, and virtual delivery may be less effective than in-person sessions.
