Game-Changing therapy? sport may boost stroke recovery
NCT ID NCT07254273
Summary
This study tested if adding boccia, a sport designed for people with special needs, to standard physical therapy could improve arm muscle thickness and grip strength in people recovering from a stroke. Twenty-two participants were randomly assigned to receive either standard therapy alone or standard therapy plus boccia exercises for eight weeks. The goal was to see if the sport's focus on hand-eye coordination and controlled movements could lead to better physical recovery.
