Blueberry boost: could this berry help young athletes recover faster?
NCT ID NCT07170878
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether taking blueberry supplements for 8 weeks could reduce muscle damage, improve liver health, and boost lung function in 36 male football players aged 14-18. Some players took blueberries while doing extra exercise, others just took blueberries, and a control group did only football training. Researchers measured muscle injury markers and liver enzymes before and after the program.
