Blueberry boost: teen footballers see muscle and lung benefits in new study
NCT ID NCT07170878
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking blueberry supplements alongside football training could reduce muscle injury, improve liver health, and help breathing. Thirty-six male teen football players were split into three groups: one did only training, one added blueberry supplements, and one added both supplements and extra exercise. After eight weeks, researchers measured muscle damage markers, liver enzymes, and lung function to see if blueberries made a difference.
