Blue dye could make surgery safer by spotting hidden ureter injuries

NCT ID NCT06054880

First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests a blue dye called Bludigo™ to help surgeons see if the tubes from the kidneys to the bladder (ureters) are open during surgery. About 116 adults will get either a small or large dose of the dye, and doctors will compare how well it works versus salt water. The goal is to find the best dose to prevent missed ureter injuries.
