Simple blood test may predict head and neck cancer behavior

NCT ID NCT07512921

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This observational study aims to see if a blood test can identify the same biological tumor types as tissue analysis in people with HPV-negative head and neck cancer. About 300 adults with locally advanced, curable cancer will give blood samples before and after treatment. Researchers will compare gene activity in blood and tumor tissue to see if the blood test can reliably predict cancer behavior and outcomes. No new treatments are tested; the goal is to gather information for future care.
