Could a simple arm cuff replace an artery line during prostate surgery?

NCT ID NCT07349186

First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at two ways to monitor blood pressure during robot-assisted prostate removal surgery. One method uses a standard arm cuff that inflates every few minutes, while the other uses a small tube placed in an artery for continuous readings. The goal is to see if the simpler cuff method is just as good at preventing dangerously low blood pressure during surgery. About 210 men scheduled for this surgery will take part.
