Blood pressure boost may save brain tissue in stroke patients

NCT ID NCT04218773

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether briefly raising blood pressure in stroke patients undergoing a clot-removal procedure can slow brain damage. About 40 adults with large-vessel blockage strokes will be enrolled within 24 hours of symptom onset. The main goals are to see if the blood pressure target can be reached safely and whether it causes serious side effects like bleeding in the brain.
