Blood filter trial aims to stop organ failure in pancreatitis patients
NCT ID NCT07267169
Summary
This study is testing a medical device that filters harmful inflammatory substances from the blood of patients hospitalized with severe acute pancreatitis. The goal is to see if adding this blood purification step to standard intensive care can reduce the severity of organ failure and improve patient outcomes. Researchers will compare 150 patients receiving the device plus standard care against those receiving standard care alone.
