New Blood-Cleaning device aims to stop organ failure in deadly pancreatitis

Summary

This study is testing a medical device that filters harmful substances from the blood of patients with severe acute pancreatitis. The goal is to see if this treatment, used alongside standard intensive care, can reduce the severity of organ failure and improve survival. Researchers will compare 150 patients receiving the new blood filter to those receiving standard care alone.
