Doctors test checklists to spot dangerous repeat blood clots
NCT ID NCT02297373
Summary
This study aimed to improve how doctors diagnose a new blood clot in patients who have had one before. Researchers tested standard medical checklists and a blood test on 744 patients with suspected repeat clots. The goal was to see if these tools could accurately identify who truly had a new clot, helping to avoid unnecessary lifelong blood thinners or missing a dangerous clot.
