First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested whether a quick, non-invasive handheld ultrasound with artificial intelligence can measure bladder fullness and help decide when a girl is ready for a pelvic ultrasound. Researchers enrolled 520 females aged 8 to 21 with lower abdominal pain in the emergency department. The goal was to see if this AI tool could reduce the time from ordering the scan to starting it.
