Empty vs. full bladder: which is safer during cervical cancer radiation?

NCT ID NCT02865837

First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looked at 22 women with cervical cancer to see if having an empty bladder (using a catheter) or a full bladder (filled with 120cc of fluid) is better during a type of radiation called brachytherapy. The goal was to measure how much radiation reaches nearby organs like the bladder, rectum, and bowel. The results help doctors choose the safest approach for future treatments.
