Blood test guides immunotherapy for bladder cancer: a smarter approach?

NCT ID NCT04138628

First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether starting immunotherapy early, guided by a sensitive blood test that finds tumor DNA, can better treat bladder cancer that has spread after bladder removal surgery. About 154 adults with signs of cancer in their blood (but not always visible on scans) will receive the treatment. The goal is to see if this approach leads to complete response and to find markers that predict who benefits most.
