New DNA test may catch bladder cancer that scopes miss

NCT ID NCT06396533

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of blood and urine DNA tests can detect muscle-invasive bladder cancer that standard scoping exams might miss before bladder removal surgery. About 92 adults scheduled for cystectomy will provide samples to see if the test accurately predicts residual cancer. If successful, it could help doctors plan better treatments and avoid unnecessary surgeries.
