Simple urine test could replace invasive scope for bladder cancer detection
NCT ID NCT03193541
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study is testing a new urine test that looks for specific proteins to detect bladder cancer in people who have tiny amounts of blood in their urine (microscopic hematuria). The goal is to see if this simple, non-invasive test can accurately identify bladder cancer, potentially reducing the need for cystoscopy (a camera inserted into the bladder). The study will enroll 900 adults with microscopic hematuria but no history of bladder cancer.
