Not open to general applications. Only people the study team invites can take part.
Paused
Paused for now. It may or may not start again.
Ongoing This study
Running, but no longer taking on new participants.
Completed
The trial has finished. Results may not be published yet.
Stopped early
Stopped early, before it reached the end. That can be for many reasons, including safety.
Cancelled
Cancelled before anyone took part.

Expanded access (not trials)

Expanded access
Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)
Not a trial. The treatment could once be requested outside a study, but no longer can.
Approved
The treatment has been approved, so it is available normally rather than through this programme.

Summary

This phase 3 trial is comparing an experimental drug, BL-M07D1, against the approved therapy T-DM1 in people with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer that has not responded to previous treatments. The study aims to see whether BL-M07D1 can delay cancer progression better than T-DM1. Participants will receive either drug by infusion every three weeks, and researchers will track how long the cancer stays under control.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
an experimental antibody-drug conjugate called BL-M07D1
What this could lead to
If BL-M07D1 proves more effective than T-DM1, it could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer who have already tried standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase 3 trial, so results are not yet known. BL-M07D1 may not be more effective than T-DM1 and could have unexpected side effects.
Why investors are watching

Sichuan Baili Pharmaceutical is running a phase III trial of its drug BL-M07D1 against an established treatment, T-DM1, in people with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer who have already tried taxanes and trastuzumab. For a small company, this late-stage readout is a major test of whether its drug can work as well as or better than a standard option. The result could shape the company's future product lineup and its standing among competitors.

If it works: If BL-M07D1 shows better disease control or a safer profile than T-DM1, the company could gain a stronger position in the breast cancer market. A positive result might also support regulatory discussions and attract partnership interest.

If it fails: The trial could fail to show an advantage over T-DM1, or the drug could cause unexpected side effects. Late-stage trials often miss their goals, and a negative result would likely set the program back and hurt the company's prospects.
