First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a device called the Bispectral Index (BIS), which measures brain activity, can help predict how well critically ill patients will do in the ICU. Researchers will monitor 40 patients with and without decreased mental status for 24 hours. The goal is to see if BIS readings are linked to survival and length of hospital stay.
