Brain wave monitor tested to predict ICU outcomes
NCT ID NCT07583732
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026
Summary
This study will test whether a simple brain activity monitor (BIS) can help predict how well critically ill patients with decreased consciousness will do. Researchers will compare BIS readings from 40 ICU patients—half with very low consciousness and half more alert—and track their recovery, hospital stay length, and survival. The goal is to see if BIS can provide useful outcome information beyond standard checks.
