Summary

This study tested whether an experimental drug called BHV-7000 could safely and effectively treat acute manic episodes in people with bipolar I disorder. Researchers enrolled 274 hospitalized patients and compared BHV-7000 against a placebo over 21 days, measuring changes in manic symptoms. The goal was to see if this new treatment could reduce the severity of manic episodes more effectively than no active medication.
