First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at 192 critically ill patients who were given antifungal drugs for a suspected fungal infection. Researchers wanted to see if using special fungal biomarkers could allow doctors to safely stop the drugs earlier than usual. The goal was to reduce unnecessary medication while making sure it did not increase the risk of death by day 28.
