First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looked at whether giving doctors extra information from a blood test and genetic analysis could help them choose better medications for people with depression. 79 adults with moderate to severe major depression took part. Half received standard care, while the other half had their doctors use the test results to guide treatment decisions. The goal was to see if the test led to greater improvement in depression symptoms after 8 weeks.
