First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study examines whether germ layers (biofilms) form on chest drains after lung surgery and if they lead to infections or antibiotic resistance. Researchers will collect drain tips from 180 adults and test them in the lab. The goal is to learn how long drains can stay in safely and how to prevent post-surgery infections.
