First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests a new bioartificial liver device (CiPS-BAL) in 12 people with liver failure or small-for-size syndrome. The main goal is to see if the device is safe and tolerable. Researchers will also check how it affects liver function and other health measures. The device uses lab-grown liver cells to help support the body's own liver.
