Smart fillings could help teeth heal themselves

NCT ID NCT07171775

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a new type of dental filling that may help teeth repair themselves after deep cavities. 66 adults with deep decay will get either the bioactive filling or a standard one. Researchers will check tooth health and pain levels for up to 2 years to see if the new filling helps form a protective layer over the nerve.
